Hand-Carved Pet Portrait Leather Bag Charm from Your Photo
A round bag charm cut from undyed vegetable-tanned cowhide, with a pet's face carved and painted into the leather by hand. The one photographed was made for a customer's dog, a white-coated pup in a teal knit sweater, worked from the photo they sent. Yours is carved the same way from your own picture, so no two come out alike.
Details
- Leather: undyed vegetable-tanned cowhide, two layers hand-stitched all the way around the rim, burnished edges. Approx. 4-5 mm thick overall.
- Size: approx. 6.5 cm (2.6 in) across the disc, approx. 10-11 cm (4 in) in total including the hook. These are estimates taken from the photos, not exact figures.
- Hardware: nickel-finish swivel snap hook on a short folded leather tab, so it clips onto a bag handle, a zip pull or a key ring.
- Carving: tooled in relief, so the head stands slightly above the leather surface and the raised ear breaks past the tooled border line, then shaded and painted by hand.
- Colour: the leather is left bare in its natural tan, sewn with cream thread to match. Paint is mixed to the colours in your photo. Bare veg-tan deepens in tone with light and handling.
- Personalisation: send one clear, well-lit photo of your pet, head and shoulders, looking towards the camera. Dogs, cats, whatever you have. The back is left plain.
Cut, carved, painted and stitched by hand in our workshop in Vietnam, one piece at a time. Small differences from the photos come with that, since the drawing follows your animal rather than a template.
